Jennifer L. Witt, MA, LPC, LPCC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor

National Certified Counselor

I am a board certified, licensed professional counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, women’s issues, men’s issues, and grief and bereavement. I have been practicing for 10 years, and am extremely passionate about working with trauma survivors and the importance of early mental health care interventions after a traumatic event and/or loss. I work with adults of all ages.

In my spare time I like to practice yoga, meditation, reiki, and dance (tap, jazz, bellydance), go to the beach, hiking, bike riding, spend time with my family and friends, create, read, listen to music, sing, tend to my emotional support plants, and walk my dog Appa (meet her below!)

My work is dedicated to helping individuals cope with life challenges, live healthy, happy and productive lives, and find healing for optimum mental health and wellness. Embarking on a healing journey is exciting, but I also know this can be an anxiety provoking decision. You are not alone in this journey! The therapeutic relationship is an integral part of the healing process. Everyone deserves a safe, confidential space that leads to healing change.

As a therapist, I have a warm, empathic approach, and I use humor when appropriate in sessions as I truly believe laughter is the best coping skill we have through the most difficult of times. My therapeutic approach is a mix of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness based techniques to meet each client’s individual needs.

I offer a safe, gentle, empathic, non judgmental therapeutic space for you to identify and utilize your strengths, explore patterns in thought processes, and develop coping mechanisms leading to healing change. Together, we will choose an individualized treatment approach that will meet your specific needs and goals. I encourage you to reach out and begin your healing journey today with a 15 minute consultation to meet and discuss your needs and goals for therapy. If either of us feels that my services are not the right fit for you, I will offer an appropriate referral.

Welcome! I am looking forward to meeting you!

Kindest regards,

Jennifer L. Witt, MA, LPC, NCC

Meet Appa - Our Virtual Therapy Dog (in training)/ Resident Support Pug

Appa is our beloved 5-year-old pug and Emotional Support Office Pug. She occasionally joins virtual sessions to offer warmth, grounding, humor, and joy to the therapeutic space.

Get to know Appa!

Appa is:

  • an unapologetic champion snuggler

  • mischievous and sassy

  • a lover of soft blankets and pillows

  • deepy convinced every human she meets is her best friend.

  • happiest when she is near her people

  • an occasional tiny snorer (a soothing white-noise bonus- or every now and then so loud you can’t help but laugh!).

  • a tiny four legged yogi

Appa often reminds us to:

  • to stretch (you will often find her waking up and doing a morning yoga routine!)

  • to practice self care

  • to ground (she loves making paw prints in the sand, or walk through the forest- think forest bathing!)

  • to regulate with somatic exercises

  • to be in the present moment

  • to laugh

  • to play

Appa naturally embodies the qualities we cultivate in therapy:

  • softness

  • steadiness

  • attunement

  • a reminder to come home to ourselves with compassion

In her spare time Appa likes to:

  • go to the beach (this is her FAVORITE!)

  • steal my coffee ;)

  • walkies (all day long!)

  • eat healthy foods like carrots, eggs, and apples

  • explore parks and trails

  • go for car rides

*Please note: Appa is not a certified service animal or therapy dog, she simply brings her natural, calming, and sometimes humorous presence to sessions when invited. Her presence in sessions is optional, supportive, and purely for emotional comfort.
